Double celebration as Midland Metro Alliance picks up two awards for collaboration and development of local people

The Midland Metro Alliance is celebrating after winning two awards for showing excellence and best practice within the construction sector, at the 2019 West Midlands Celebrating Construction Awards.

The team scooped the Integration and Collaborative Working Award for its work in transforming the West Midlands through alliancing and collaboration, and the People Development Award for its ongoing work in upskilling local people and offering career advice and guidance to the region’s young people.

The awards, promoted by the Chartered Institute of Building West Midlands and Constructing Excellence Midlands, recognise the excellence of local organisations in working in the built environment sector.

Speaking about the construction project, a judge said: “A great long term programme from one of our larger Midlands clients, showing what clients can do through collaboration and aspiration.”

Earlier this week, Alejandro Moreno, Alliance Director, celebrated the successes with office staff and site operatives during a presentation at the alliance’s Alpha Tower HQ and our Swallow Street work site.

Speaking with colleagues, Alejandro, said: “We were delighted to be recognised as an excellent example of partnership working. It was also fantastic that the team was recognised too for helping local unemployed people find work within the sector.”
