A novel way to get an interview!

Midland Metro Alliance Director, Alejandro Moreno, was filmed by the BBC as he stopped to speak with 22 year-old graduate Jamie Harris who was handing out his CV to commuters at Birmingham’s New Street Station.

Despite sending many CVs to companies since graduating in History from Leicester University, Jamie said he had frequently been told he ‘had insufficient experience’. He decided to try his luck with local businesses in Birmingham, coming up with the novel idea of holding a sign and handing his CV to potential employers at the busy train station.

Alejandro Moreno said: “I stopped to talk to Jamie on the concourse as I thought it was not just a great way of getting his CV out to potential employers, but that he had displayed exactly the kind of qualities we are looking for in our recently formed Midland Metro Alliance.”

Alejandro took a copy of Jamie’s CV and will invite him to visit the MMA to discuss if there are any suitable opportunities within the next couple of weeks.
