Yesterday, the Midland Metro Alliance, working on behalf of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), submitted an application to the Department for Transport (DfT) for the Midland Metro, the Edgbaston Extension Land Acquisition Order. This Order will enable the MMA to purchase the land required to construct the Metro extension to Edgbaston.
The application includes of a number of documents which are available to download on the Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) website at: https://www.tfwm.org.uk/development/midland-metro-extensions/edgbaston/.

The MMA is continuing to work with stakeholders on the design and development of the extension from Centenary Square to its proposed new terminus outside of 54 Hagley Road and work to enable this extension this has been continuing. This includes a range of works to divert the utility services that operate under the proposed track-bed.
