Working within the Engagement Team and reporting to Digital Marketing Manager, the main responsibility of the Digital Marketing Officer is to support the Head of Engagement and Digital Marketing Manager to execute the MMA’s digital, marketing and social media strategies. In particular, the Digital Marketing Officer is responsible for managing the MMA website on a daily basis, ensuring relevant copy is created and checked, images and graphics added and that the functionality and usability is suitable. In addition, the Digital Marketing Officer acts as the central internal liaison point, managing briefs for and relationships with external printers, designers, photographers, videographers, etc.. This includes, ensuring quotes are received, requisitions are completed in a timely manner and POs raised. The Digital Marketing Officer also provides in-house graphic design support – including creating infographics, graphics, maps, video, photography, etc. - and offers assistance in the design and lay-out of both printed and digital marketing communications material. The Digital Marketing Officer also supports the Digital Marketing Manager to manage the day-to-day social media, web and communication accounts, ensuring inquiries are dealt with in a timely manner and professional manner.

• Contribute to the MMA’s digital, marketing and social media strategies and plans, helping to identify current and future trends and opportunities to maximise positive publicity for the MMA and its partners;
• Assist the Digital Marketing Manager manage the MMA’s day-to-day info@, communications@ and social media presence, including monitoring, responding to enquiries and complaints in an accurate, consistent, professional and timely manner;
• Assist the Digital Marketing Manager to manage the website, including liaising with the hosting/development agency and usability to support customer journeys on the MMA website using WordPress;
• Manage the website on a day-to-day basis, liaising with the relevant teams and partners to ensure all sections, copy, images, graphics, publications, news etc. are up-to-date and accurate;
• Administrate the Eng App on a daily basis and manage upgrades and updates;
• Assist the Digital Marketing Manager in the development, design and layout of a suite of marketing collateral to support the wider MMA team and maximises opportunities to promote the MMA both locally and nationally;
• Ensure any digital processes and procedures, including crisis management function, are adhered to at all times;
• With the Digital Marketing Manager, conduct digital and marketing advocacy and open a stream for cross-promotions, in particular by developing professional relationships with the relevant partner organisations to ensure the MMA has a digital and where applicable, print presence, which is accurate, timely and consistent;
• Assist the Engagement Team to ensure a range of ‘best practice’ digital and marketing processes and procedures are followed and acts as a ‘gatekeeper’ for the brand, ensuring that the wider MMA team have the relevant tools and templates required;
• Manage the administration and production of a range of digital and print content, including video, articles, imagery, photography, social media posts, infographics etc. in partnership with agencies where applicable;
• Assist the Digital Marketing Manager in building SEO, online reviews and reputation, including monitoring online reviews and liaising with wider Engagement Team to respond where applicable whilst supporting the production and outreach of content through advocates such as bloggers, vloggers, etc;
• Work closely with the Engagement Team to maximise and fully optimise all available news content, success stories and brand messages across digital and marketing channels to fully engage with identified stakeholders;
• Technically support the Engagement team at a range of internal meetings and the MMA at a range of external meetings;
• Help ensure appropriate MMA and partner case studies and collateral are shared across the MMA digital platforms;
• Support the Digital Marketing Manager and wider engagement team members in engaging in dialogue and answering questions where appropriate;
• Support and advise wider MMA members where appropriate in their use of social media, website and marketing communications with regards to helping to promote MMA.
• Assist in the management of the calendar of external events to ensure highly targeted marketing collateral support and resourcing and where applicable, provides event support to the wider MMA team;
• Assist in producing reports on new technology proposals, partner and competitor social media coverage for the Digital Marketing Manager;

• Higher education qualification




• Established network of industry or local contacts
• A knowledge of the industry
• An interest in developing marketing skills
• Knowledge of Project lifecycle and highway/railway/construction delivery requirements
• Transport sector experience
• Light rail, rail or highway multi-disciplinary delivery experience


• Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
• Experienced working with CMS, in particular Word Press
• Some knowledge of PHP and Html
• Technical aptitude and interest in graphic design software
• Displays ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written, visual and video format.
• Ability to see the bigger picture with regards to identifying potential PR threats
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Has a working knowledge of blogging and vlogging
• Makes evident good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly
