GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB

The finance and commercial team provide the commercial and finance functions to support the Midland Metro Alliance. This includes finance, commercial, contract/legal matters and budget control and reporting. We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the Commercial Lead for our Westside tram extension.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE POST
Accountabilities (Deliverables):

• Applications for payment to contract timescales
• Project actual costs and accruals are finalised within reporting cycle
• Earned Value Reports
• Negotiation and agreement of variations with supply chain and Owner Participant
• Resolution of contractual disputes
• Cost control and administration
• Subcontractor procurement and management
• Forecast Final Cost Reports

Responsibilities (Duties):

• Processing and agreement of Applications for payment to contract timescales for all Alliance Partners
• Ensure Project actual costs and accruals are finalised within reporting cycle and reported accurately with Earned Value Reports/CVR’s
• Ensure all project costs are accounted for within budgets with liaison with the Delivery Teams
• Subcontract payments made in line with contractual commitments and notifications sent
• Negotiation and agreement of variations with supply chain and Owner Participant
• Resolution of contractual disputes
• Cost control and administration
• Subcontractor procurement and management

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications

• A construction commercial qualification (such as quantity surveying or commercial management) preferred

Knowledge/Experience

• 10 years experience in a similar role
• RICS (or equivalent) preferred, but not essential
• Working in a finance or commercial function within the engineering or construction sector
• Knowledge of finance systems
• Cost and budget administration
