The second phase of the Birmingham Westside Metro extension opened in July 2022. Since this date, our team have been busy completing finishing activities, including snagging works, and the next stage of these are due to begin from Sunday 10 September 2023.
This work will include resurfacing crossing points across various parts of Broad Street. Work is scheduled to take place between Sunday 10 September and Saturday 16 September 2023 (inclusive) and during this time Broad Street will be closed to vehicular traffic.
In order to expedite works and minimise overall disruption ahead of planned events in the area including Freshers Week, construction is planned to take place during both day and night time hours. Noise mitigating measures will be implemented however, there may be an element of noise, particularly from late afternoon on the first day of activity as the road surface will be removed at localised points across Broad Street.
