This extension will serve the HS2 station on Curzon Street and we are working with the developers of this to ensure a smooth delivery process.

This Extension will run along an existing heavy rail corridor. The route is 11 kilometres long, and includes 17 stops, including 4 provisional stops.

The extension of the tramline from Digbeth to East Birmingham-Solihull will play a key role in delivering the full potential for growth and jobs of HS2.

0.7km of twin and single track departing from Bilston Street junction and continuing to a new terminus outside Wolverhampton train station.

Phase two of the Birmingham Westside extension will see the tramway further extended from Library tram stop in Centenary Square along Broad Street to Hagley Road in Edgbaston (just west of Five Ways).

Construction has commenced as of summer 2017 and passenger services are expected to begin in 2019.
