Careers in Construction: Join us at our upcoming virtual insight events

Following the recent news that schools will be returning to in-person lessons from 8 March 2021, a decision has been made to postpone our half-day virtual insight event until later in the year in order that more students have the opportunity to take part.

We are proud to be a diverse organisation and as part of celebrations for International Women`s Day and their #ChooseToChallenge theme we wanted to showcase the career paths available within the light rail industry to inform and inspire the next generation.

Midland Metro Alliance is a team of planning, design and construction specialists building a number of new tram extensions across the West Midlands on behalf of Transport for West Midlands.

We will now be hosting a one-hour session for all those who had signed up to our #ChooseToChallenge event on Monday 29 March. Attendees will gain an understanding of Midland Metro Alliance’s construction projects and career opportunities in light rail together with insight into the role of an Assistant Project Manager within the alliance.

The alliance will also be hosting the full virtual insight event on Monday 27 September. There will be a mix of presentations and live activities in this half-day session and anyone with an interest in careers in construction is encouraged to attend.

Our virtual events will be hosted through the Speakers For Schools platform. To register to attend an event, your school or college must first be registered if they have not done so already.

Register to attend either the short session or full virtual insight event:

More details about the session in March can be found on the Speakers For School website. If you would like to sign up, please do so before Friday 19 March.
