The Midland Metro Alliance is proud to facilitate apprenticeships which span a diverse range of fields, from quantity surveying to communications, marketing, procurement and business administration. In 2018, the organisation also led an industry group which helped to create the first ever apprenticeship in the UK for light rail construction.
In the autumn of 2021, the alliance added ten apprentices to its workforce who are across all of their projects. Apprenticeships like these help provide young people with hands-on experience whilst they receive a salary and study towards a nationally recognised qualification.

From Apprentice to Office Manager: Amy
Amy Hands joined the alliance in January 2017 as an Administration Apprentice. Five years and two promotions later, Amy is now Office Manager at Midland Metro Alliance’s head office. In this short video, Amy shares how her apprenticeship has boosted her confidence and opened up career opportunities:
